Frequently Asked Questions

Yoga is growing in popularity for good reason. People find it extremely useful in controlling stress, maintaining a healthy weight, deepening breath and overall mental and physical awareness.

The first important thing to understand is how to maximize and maintain your breath during your practice, and ultimately your life.

The movements in Yoga are designed to allow your body to gracefully move to release toxins build strength and to facilitate healthy bodily functions (i.e. digestion, cell repair, blood circulation, etc,)

You can truly begin to reap the rewards of Yoga when you understand how important a healthy body is to you. Your body is your gift to yourself. Discipline and devotion to proper exercise can change the way you look at life. Push yourself to improve on a daily basis and you will soon see. People realize this empowerment in a very short period of time when they are honestly committed to practicing Yoga.

People often ask:

1. I am not very flexible. Can I do Yoga?

In  Yoga class we work at becoming more flexible one day at a time. A regular Yoga practice is great way to become more flexible.

2. What do I wear?

Comfortable fitting clothes work best. It is best to be warm when practicing Yoga (if you choose to wear a sport pant, make sure your pants are well hemmed – you do not want to be stepping on the cuffs during practice). Foot wear or socks are not required, people tend to find more grip to the mat in bare feet.

3. Do I need to bring a mat?

We provide mats, blocks and straps. However you are more than welcome to bring your personal mat if you prefer.

4. When should I eat before Yoga?

It is best to allow yourself a minimum of 1-2 hours before a Yoga class and you should only drink small amounts of water before practice. It is not recommended to do Yoga following a large meal; it puts strain on the abdomen and digestive system and interferes with your body’s energy allocation.

5. Do I need to register for class?

There is no need to register for regularly scheduled classes, drop in whenever you wish. Our seasonal yoga programs (8 Week Program, Morning Yoga) do require registration because space can be limited.  Our website always has our most up-to-date schedule.

6. How much time should I allow before class?

It is best to show up 5-10 minutes early. This allows you time to relax, change, and fully prepare yourself for class.

7.  What is the price?

All of this information  is located on our price page.
